IT Operations

The history of AIOps

AIOps, a term coined by Gartner referring to Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations, describes quite clearly the use and ongoing absorption of Artificial Intelligence in day-to-day IT Operations, lightening the workload by easing and automating manual tasks such as monitoring, parsing, etc. thus assisting IT teams to attend to higher level IT issues.

As a relatively new term and most specifically in the past year and a half, with Google searches increasing rapidly, AIOps has been the holy grail for so many.

But where did this –obvious today, oblivious not too long ago– synergy of AI in benefit of IT emerge from in the first place?

A good question with a hell of a infographic answer!

Well, dated back to World War 2 to improve military efficiency and decision-making on the battlefield, AIOps have been changing the world ever since, check out our 'History of AIOps' infographic!

Loom Systems delivers an AIOps-powered log analytics solution, Sophie, to predict and prevent problems in the digital business. Loom collects logs and metrics from the entire IT stack, continually monitors them, and gives a heads-up when something is likely to deviate from the norm. When it does, Loom sends out an alert and recommended resolution so DevOps and IT managers can proactively attend to the issue before anything goes down.
